Huh, this thing is still right where I left it. It's kind of nice and peaceful here, maybe I should hang out more.

So, the last time I posted I think I said I had an idea for a General Hospital fic. That was a year ago. Anyway, last week I started writing it, and I've finished what I think of as the first chapter. It's a pretty silly thing, but I don't know, I think it's fun. It might not be as terrible as most soap fic (which is mostly very terrible).

I also started the process of uploading my old stories to AO3. In a rare burst of self-esteem, I have to give myself credit: they're not great writing, but generally speaking they are adequate to halfway decent fanfiction.

It is not terrible at all. Neither is the rest of your fic.

It's weird uploading old stuff, though. Even the good stuff.

All I really aspire to is "not terrible", in all areas of life, so it's good to meet that goal in at least one of them.

It is weird. I want to re-edit stuff. And I'm trying to decide how far to go back. I still get hits on that Gilmore Girls fic, but I'm not sure I'm proud of it anymore.

I confess I only uploaded a few stories. There are probably a few more that don't make me wince; I should put those up. But some of the old FK stuff makes me want to hide in the corner, so those? They'll stay over on Dreamwidth, alone and mostly ignored.

I think you should definitely hang out here more often! So glad to see you again. :)

Aww, I'm sure they're great. We're always our own worst critics. I felt the same way uploading my stuff to AO3 but then I thought... why not... there's worse stuff out there, I'm sure. :)
